5 October 2026The Naboro Adventist Church organised an evangelistic meeting at Naimataga Settlement in Lami, culminating in a baptismal Sabbath where 18 people publicly committed their lives to Jesus Christ.
Baptismal Sabbath preacher and Fiji Mission President Pr. Epeli Saukuru reminded everyone that they are not called to remain closed within the Church, but to take the Gospel to the world so that people may know the greatness of God.
Reflecting on John 20:13 and John 13:14β15, Pr. Saukuru also emphasised the role of the Church in shaping Christian character. He encouraged believers to allow God to transform attitudes and behaviours such as gossip, criticism, doubt and weakness, and to follow Christβs example of humility and service.
The baptism is part of a continuing evangelistic effort organised by Naboro Adventist Church. Three evangelistic programs have been conducted in Naboro this year. The first included theology students from Avondale University in Australia, who supported the ministry and helped prepare hearts through their involvement.
During Fiji for Christ, seven people were baptised. Following the campaign, Naboro Adventist Church continued with a post-Fiji for Christ evangelistic program, where another 18 people gave their lives to Jesus through baptism.
The ministry also received support from a group who travelled by bus from Nadurubua to participate in and support the baptismal service.
For the Naboro church members, the baptisms are a testimony of Godβs continued work through evangelism, prayer, Bible teaching and the faithful involvement of His people.
