𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗜, 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧: 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥 𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗕𝗔𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗘 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗥𝗠

For 𝗣𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗷𝗼𝘀𝗲, ministry does not end when he steps away from the pulpit. Sometimes ministry takes him into the fields, where his knowledge of agriculture becomes another way of serving people and pointing them to Christ.

Originally from the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, Pr. Carbajose serves at 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗵-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 in the Northern Australian Conference. He travelled to Fiji to serve as the speaker at 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗮 during Fiji for Christ, bringing with him not only years of pastoral experience but another gift that has quickly become a blessing to the community.

Pr. Carbajose holds a 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆. During his time in Nadala, he has used that knowledge to connect with local farmers and encourage them to think about ways of improving their productivity and livelihoods.

As part of his daily activities, he has shared practical advice with farmers on increasing production and considering 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗽𝘀 that could provide greater economic opportunities. His hope is that stronger farms can help strengthen families, support communities and enable members to contribute more effectively to the mission of the Church.

His ministry at Nadala demonstrates an important truth about mission: God can use every skill placed in His hands.

By night, Pr. Carbajose stands before the community and shares the Word of God. During the day, he can stand beside a farmer and talk about the soil, crops and opportunities for improving a family’s livelihood. Both are expressions of the same calling to serve people.

His personal motto captures the heart behind his ministry:

“𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗜, 𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧.”

For Pr. Carbajose, the knowledge he gained through education is not simply a qualification. It is another tool for mission. His experience in Nadala is showing that evangelism can happen from the pulpit, in a home, during a conversation and even in the field.

As Fiji for Christ continues, his story is a reminder to every church member that 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. Teachers, farmers, health professionals, tradespeople, businesspeople, technicians and young people all have knowledge and abilities that God can use to bless others.

At Nadala, seeds are being planted in more ways than one, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹, 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.

And through it all, the message remains simple:

Not I, but Christ.
