PRAISE THE LORD! PRAISE THE LORD!
14 June 2026
With Heartfelt Gratitude to Gilson College
17 June 2026Today was a special day for Buretu Seventh-day Adventist Church as Fiji Mission President Pr. Epeli Saukuru, General Secretary Pr. Senitiki Waqa, and Ministerial Secretary Pr. Leone Tubuna joined the church family to officiate the Organization Program ceremony.
This church stands on a rich history of faith, sacrifice, and mission. During the leadership of the late Pastor Tom Osborne, who served as President of the Fiji Mission from 2001 to 2006, the building of Buretu Church was organized with the support of the Fly and Build Team from Mackay SDA Church in Queensland, Australia, together with local builders led by Mr. Qoriniasi Savou and his team.
We also remember the life and faith of Turaga na Tora Naibati, Ratu Atonio Veikoso, who opened the first SDA Church evangelistic meeting at Buretu Village Community Hall in 2017. Through that meeting, he was baptized together with his wife, Susana Veikoso, his eldest daughter, Adi Nanise Veikoso, and his youngest son, Ratu Atonio Rabici Veikoso. His desire was to see a church built on this land, and today that vision continues to bear fruit.
Pr. Epeli Saukuru reminded the members that this church must be a place where everyone can find hope, no matter their status, background, or ethnicity.
Today, we celebrate not only the organization of a church, but the faithfulness of God through the lives of those who prayed, served, gave, and believed.
May Buretu Seventh-day Adventist Church continue to shine as a house of hope, a place of worship, and a center of mission for the glory of God.
